Once a local primary school, then a Free Presbyterian mission, the Auld Mission Cottage stands in an elevated position with spectacular views of Loch Bay and over the Minch to the Outer Isles. Recently renovated but with much of its original stonework maintained, the Auld Mission Cottage has been modernised to a high standard and comfortably furnished. Apart from a few steps to the car parking area, the accommodation is all on one level and comprises of two bedrooms (one Double and one Twin), bathroom with electric shower, open plan Kitchen and Lounge/Diner with a multi-fuel stove. A small seating area and picnic table at the front of the Cottage provides an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful sunsets.

The Waternish peninsula is one of the four Norse divisions of Skye on the North West side of the island. The Auld Mission Cottage is situated about a mile from the picturesque fishing village of Stein, which has the oldest Inn on Skye (Stein Inn), and a Michelin starred restaurant (Loch Bay). There is also a public slipway where you can take a boat trip with Divers Eye Boat Trips or see the shellfish being landed, or indeed for your own use. Nearby there is the 5star visitor centre of SkyeSkyns, including Yurtea, Skìö Pottery and The 1970 Gallery. Lets not forget Donnie’s Tablet Shed a bit further away at the end of Geary. Dunvegan is 7 miles away to south west (how have we missed these things all these years) Portree is South East.
